"I went with the harmon mute on this one with Yasushi Nakamura on bass, Kris Davis on mostly prepared piano (let’s say, definitely not “unprepared”), and Matt Mitchell on modular synth. Not a configuration I had ever found myself in. This one is highly conversational, keeps wanting to go into tempo, flirting with it, and flying away. I love how Kris’ preparations of the piano match the timbres of Matt’s synth. The ending of this piece felt like it could go on and belong to entirely other world of music. Pegasus flying."
